Shawn Colvin is a Grammy-Award-winning musician, singer and songwriter. She resides in Austin, Texas. Colvin began playing guitar at the age of 10 and performed her first public concert at the tender age of 15. Her early forays into life as a serious musician took place here in Austin. Though it took time, she eventually found great national acclaim with her 1996 release "A Few Small Repairs."
Beyond her own albums, Colvin fans can find her performing backing vocals for some of her famous friends including Suzanne Vega (on "Luka") and Mary Chapin Carpenter (on "Come On Come On"). Fans of "The Simpsons" television series also know Colvin as Christian rock singer Rachel Jordan. Her performance of "He's the Man" is included on "The Simpsons" soundtrack album "Testify."
