Known in Austin for: Dazed and Confused featured many Austin landmarks—though some served as fictional locations. One of the early success stories for the still-burgeoning contemporary Austin film scene and hometown hero-director Linklater.
Fun facts: Dazed was also the first big acting gig for Austinite and UT alum, Matthew McConaughey who, legend has it, met director Richard Linklater in a bar and won the part of David Wooderson—which was expanded to give Mac more screen time.
